JHGS PA School Run 2010

Run, jog or walk in the JHGS PA inaugral School Run in beautiful West Wycombe Park, Buckinghamshire on Sunday 20th June

The JHGS PA is delighted to announce two multi terrain runs of 5k & 10k taking place on Sunday 20th June at West Wycombe Park, by kind permission of Sir Edward Dashwood Bt.  Both runs are open to 'all-comers' -parents, students, friends, relations - anyone who meets the Terms & Conditions of Entry.  We hope to make the JHGS PA School Run an annual fundraising event.

Event location
This years event is taking place in the grounds of West Wycombe Park, a beautiful stately home, which comprises of some 5000 acres in the Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The fine landscape gardens of the Estate were created in the mid 18th century by Sir Francis Dashwood, founder of the Dilettanti Society and Hellfire Club. The mansion is among the most theatrical and Italianate in England.  Lavishly decorated, it has featured in films and television series, including, Little Dorrit and The Duchess

The Estate grounds contain Rococo follies, temples and a lake which can be viewed during the course of the run.
West Wycombe Park is a National Trust property and is open to the public, the Hellfire Caves can also be visited nearby.  The entry fee includes a £1 donation to the West Wycombe Charitable Trust which supports a wide range of local charitable activities.   All the remaining profits will be donated to JHGS Food & Technology Building  Fund.

About the course
Both the 5k and 10k runs start and finish from the rear of the main house. Each course is multi terrain and are either on good quality tracks, grassland or on private roads with less than 10% of the courses overall being on tarmac.

There are a number of hills over the course so the event will be challenging and exciting for all grades of runners!  You can run or jog the course or maybe even just walk with the family and enjoy the views.
A commemorative medal will be awarded to all participants who complete the course.

So put on your running shoes and help to raise funds for the new JHGS Food & Technology Building.

Special thanks to Sir Edward Dashwood Bt., and to the employees of the West Wycombe Estate for helping the JHGS PA put on this years event
